Riesling Poached Pears

I grew up with my mom (only on special occasions) baking apples in the oven.  She would core the apples and bake them stuffed with butter, cinnamon and sugar.  the small would draw everyone into the kitchen.  So I took a spin on this dessert and used pears.


 Simply pored out a bottle or semi-sweet 
Riesling wine and then cored my pears.  I studded the pears with cloves and seasoned the pan with cinnamon, sugar, vanilla beans, and vegan butter.


Serve hot with your chose of non-dairy ice cream (I like Tofutti - www.tofutti.com)!
